At Home Exercises without Equipment

If you think you have to have an expensive home gym to get the workouts you need, think again. The fact is that there are plenty of routines you can try at home without using any equipment at all. You may still want to go to the gym for special training if that is what you are aiming for, but if you just want to lose some weight and feel better about yourself, you can do that at home. Here are a few different ways you can stay active right in your house.

Walking

At Home Exercises without EquipmentWalking is the easiest way to get your circulation moving without a ton of effort on your part. Of course, you could also work with jogging or running if you felt like it, but a ten to twenty minute walk at home can do you some good. Walk throughout the house or go out in the yard. You could even walk in the neighborhood if you like. This is a great cardiovascular workout, and it is absolutely free.

Dancing

You can burn calories by dancing at home just as easily as you can burn calories walking. Make this a fun activity with your kids or your spouse so that the whole family gets involved. You can even invest in video games that make you dance and move to win. This turns the event into a game and may make it even more fun than it already is.

Crunches

Crunches are some of the oldest workouts in the book, but they are also some of the most effective for abdominal issues. If you are trying to get a strong, flat stomach, a few crunches a day may help you do that. Do not worry about completing a full crunch when you first start. Your muscles will get used to the act over time so you can push your body further.

Weight Lifting

You do not need expensive weights and personal trainer to actually go through weight lifting. You just need something decently heavy in your home. If you are a parent, you could try lifting your child for some exercise. It would be fun for him or her, and it could give you a better body in the end. There should be something in your house that you can lift for your strength.

Leg Lifts

Leg lifts require no weights at all, and they are great for your lower body. You should try to keep your legs as straight as possible when you do them, but you can bend slightly if there is an issue. Work this into your at home exercises and you could have fantastic looking legs in no time. It is all a matter of finding a balance that works for you.
